Classroom Language 1

Good morning everybody! As I promised in class, I compiled the sentences of the week we worked on in class over the last 2 months and created an animation with them. What you have to do is to write them on your notebooks at the begining of unit 3. Besides the sentences, the animation has my English pronunciation so you need to put your headphones on to listen to me reading them. Don't panic. See you.

Unit 2 (Materials): Classroom activities (solved)

Hi everybody! This animation is for you all to prepare the exam you are going to take this coming Thursday. I am aware of the amount of vocabulary you have to learn but, as I told you in class, you only have to match the tools with their names, tools and woodworking techniques, recognise materials and classify them into the correct group (wood, metals, ...), distinguish the properties of wood and metals and little else.... Good luck!

Unit 2 (Materials): IT Room activities

Hello, everybody. Here you have the activities we are doing these weeks in the IT Room (we will finish this set of activities next week) . Take a look at it before doing them on Moodle website. They are the same activities but now in English. I know that this unit is a difficult one because of the amount of new vocabulary both in Spanish and English. I hope you all take this challenging task as a stimulus to improve your technical English.
The animation below shows the names of woodworking tools. Cheer up!

Wellcome to the course 2013/14

Hi everybody! This is my first blog in English so I apologize, in advance, for the many mistakes I am going to make. This is my first attempt to teach my subject (Technologies) in English and I will try to do my best.
This blog is for my studens of 1st course of ESO (1ยบ C) and it has two purposes: to communicate with my students out of class and help them with the content subject and the English language neccesary for the class.
Over the last three weeks we have been working on the first unit (Unit 0: Introduction to Technologies) and the second unit (Technical drawing). Besides the content (how to draw lines, angles, circles and the views of an object) we are focusing on the vocabulary (set square, protractor, overhead view,...) of the lesson. In the IT Room we are practicing both aims (content and vocabulary) and in the Workshop we are building a card box to put away the tangram pieces. If you want to do these exercises at home click on the elinks below:
That is all for now. See you in class.
