Unit 4 (Electricity): Class Activities

Hi everyone! We have just started Unit 4, the unit devoted to electricity. After the presentation, we will be working on class activities and IT activities. As for class activities, we will be working in the workshop (3 sessions) in order to create our first electric circuits. The picture below shows the electrical material you need to bring to the workshop: a 4,5 volt battery, a bulb (and a bulb holder) and connecting wires. You will use these materials in the final project at the end of the unit (go to my padlet to see the set of activities for Unit 4). Good luck.

Unit 3 (Materials): Exam

Hi everybody. This week we are working on the workshop activity (project): Mars Exploration Rover. The most important thing on this activity is the way you deal with teamwork, and, some of you are struggling. When finishing, we will devote a last session reviewing the whole unit before the exam. So, two groups will be doing the exam the coming Wednesday and the rest (four groups) on Thursday. Good luck.

Unit 3 (Materials): IT Activities at home

Hi everybody! Here you have the possibility of getting extra points (10% in your final mark). You have to access to our Virtual Classroom and complete IT Activities from home. Remember that you have to enter your personal username and your password to enter the Virtual Classroom (1ESO_MAXI_ENGLISH).

The first time you enter, after logging in you will need as well the password for the course (the same we use in the computer room). So, get down to work. See you.

Unit 3 (Materials): IT Activities.

Hi everybody. Tomorrow we will start doing the IT Activities for this unit devoted to materials. Actually you will start by completing the Class Activity 1, the same activity you ha already done in the classroom using the cards. We are going  to spend 4 days doing these activities in the Computer Room. See you.

Unit 2 (Graphic Communication: Classroom Activities (optional)

Hi! Nobody handed in the optional for Unit 1 but you all still have the opportunity to do the optional activity for Unit 2. The only thing you need to do is to access my padlet and download the PDF file: Activity_2 (optional): Packages. Read instructions to complete the activity (design a package). Do not forget to review the activities for the exam.See you in class.

End of quarter (trimester)

Hi everybody! Here you have the schedule (timetable) for the last 4 weeks we have before Christmas.

• At the moment, we are completing the second class activity (Isometric Projections). It is a 2-day activity in the classroom, so some of you are going to start the second session (CA2) meanwhile (in the meantime) others will be doing the first session (CA1) on Monday.

• After finishing that activity you all will be working on the project for this unit: The Tangram Project. This is a workshop activity (WS) we will be doing individually in the classroom for two days (WS1, WS2). The materials you need are of the same kind you used for the class activities: 4 pieces of cardboard, glue stick, scissors and drawing tools.

• And just between these two activities, you will be completing the computer activities (IT). You have already done two sessions while I was in Norwich, so now you have two sessions left (IT3 and IT4).

• You will be taking the exam during the third of these 4 weeks. It will be an exam for Units 1 and 2, 50% each unit.

Unit 2 (Graphic Communication): Activities

Hi everybody! This week we are resuming the activities for Unit 2. You have been working on Unit 2 for three weeks (two and a half, actually) during my trip so we are going to spend another 2 weeks to finish those activities:

• 2 sessions in the computer room
• 2 sessions for the class activities (trihedral plane)
• 2 sessions for the project (in the classroom)
• 1 session to review the workbook

After finishing Unit 2, you will take an exam (Units 1 and 2). Good luck.

Hi! This post is to set your first extra activity (Sky Diver) to do in pairs at home. It is not a compulsory (obligatory) activity so feel free to get a partner and give yourself the opportunity of getting 10-extra points for this unit. Download the activity sheet, complete the activity and give it in by the the end of this month (30th of October). Come on!
