Unit 1 (Technology and Design): Classroom Activities (optional)

Hi! This post is to set your first extra activity (Sky Diver) to do in pairs at home. It is not a compulsory (obligatory) activity so feel free to get a partner and give yourself the opportunity of getting 10-extra points for this unit. Download the activity sheet, complete the activity and give it in by the the end of this month (30th of October). Come on!

 

Unit 1: workshop activities (straw bridges)

Hi again! As I told you, the last part of Unit 1 is the project. In order to put in practice the steps of the technological process, you are going to do a 3-day activity starting in the classroom (first session) and completing the activity in the workshop (2 sessions).
You will be given a problem and your task  is to build an object that solves that problem or need. As you know, the second step is "research the problem" and so you will have to investigate about the possible solutions to the problem. You need to do the research before going to the workshop. Units 1 and 2

Hi everybody! After a month (4 weeks actually) in Norwich (United Kingdom), here we are to go on with our activities. You have been working on the activities of Unit 2 related to graphic design (technical drawing) for the last 3 weeks and, as you know, I resumed the activities for Unit 1 last Monday. We still have 6 sessions left in this unit: 2 sessions in the computer room, 3 sessions to complete the project of the unit and 1 session for reviewing everything.

Unit 1 (Technology and Design): IT Activities

Hello again! Here you have the IT Activities for the first unit. We are going to spend 4 sessions in the Computer Room to complete these activities in pairs. The first part is an introduction to computers and the internet (1 session), and the second part is devoted to the topic technology and the technological design process (3 sessions). Good luck.

Hi everybody! Hi new students of Technology, Programming and Robotics. This is the blog for the first grade of ESO, both program and section students. Here you will find the activities you all will do in class, in the computer room and in the workshop. Final exam. September 2016

Hi! As you know students who didn’t pass the course in June, you will have another opportunity in September. You will need to take a global exam in which you will be asked to answer questions about the six units we have studied this year. You will need to get at least 5 out of 10 points in the exam to pass. In order to prepare for the exam, here you have some activities to practice (click on the e-links):

• Unit 1 (Technology and Design):

- solutions to solve problems

• Unit 2 (Graphical Communication):

- measuring with a ruler 1 and measuring with a ruler 2

- drawing parallel and perpendicular lines

OK. Remember these are only a selection of the activities you can practice with. Besides you can browser over the blog to find  the complete IT activities we have been working on. Finally, it would be a good idea to use the workbook to complete the activities (at least for unit 2). Good luck.

Unit 5 (Computers and the Internet): Exam

Hi! As you all know, those who have not to retake any exam, you will do an on-line exam of Unit 5 using our Virtual Classroom. The exam consists of 6 questions: 3 about the devices we need to connect to the Internet from home and another 3 questions about the Internet itself. Do not forget to bring your username and password. Good luck.

Final exam. June 2016

Hi everybody! We are getting to the end of year (the academic year) and next week (the 15th and 16th of June) we will be doing our last exam:

• For those who did not pass two terms (evaluations) you will have to take a global exam.Do not forget your drawing tools.
• For those who did not pass one term (evaluation) you will retake the exam (most of you, only the third term)
• The rest of you will do an on-line exam in the Computer Room (Units 5 & 6)

Units 5&6 (The Internet and Programming): Scratch Activities

Hi everybody! After completing some internet activities, we continue working on the internet.
