Unit 2 (Graphic Communication): Exam
Hi there! As you already know, you will be sitting the exam of this Unit 2 next Monday, the 21st of December. In this exam you will be asked for the name of tools and material used during the class activities, measurements, how to draw parallel and perpendicular lines, angles (measuring and drawing), how to draw circles, squares and rectangles, views of an object and one exercise taken form the IT Activities (1,2,3, 4 or 18). End of year. 2015 September Global Exam
As you know students who didn’t pass the course in June, you will have to take a global exam in September. In this exam you will be asked to answer questions about the seven units we have studied this year. You will need to get at least 5 out of 10 points in the exam to pass. In order to prepare for the exam, you must complete the classroom activities and the IT Activities I have posted on my blog. You will find a selection of these activities in the exam . Good luck.

Unit 5 (Energies): Solutions to the Classroom Activities
Hi there! Next Monday both classes are taking the exam on Energies. Most of the questions you are going to be asked are in your Workbook and the solutions to these activities are shown in the presentation below and here. The main points in the exam are: energy transformation, how power plants (nuclear, wind turbine) work, forms of energy, heat engines (four-stroke engine), and little more. Good luck.

Unit 5 (Energies): Workshop activities
Hi everybody! As you all probably know, next week we will go to the workshop (2 sessions) to construct a balloon-propelled car (Energy's unit project). You are going to work in pairs and the materials needed for the project are:
You will also need a pair of scissors and a ruler. The picture below (click on the picture to enlarge) shows a car made by former students. Besides the construction of the car, you will have to make some experiments (second session) in order to study the energy transformation. I hope you like it. See you.

Unit 3 (Structures): Workshop activities
High everybody and happy new year. As you all know, next week we will be spending the first session (out of two) in the workshop. You will work in pairs to construct a structure (lightweight, stable and resistant) using plastic straws. The material you have to bring to the workshop includes
- a pack of plastic straws (perhaps you will need 30)
- sticky tape (sellotape)
- a paper clip
- a pair of scissors and a ruler
- a plastic bag to keep the structure (between sessions)
